I bought an MIM Classic Player Jaguar today in Denmark St with Doog. It is super awesome.

A lickle vid for starters, more pics when the light is better and I'll do a better video at some point:

Looks sweet. Couldn't hold out for the vintage one, or did the Classic Player just do it for ya?

Both really.

1. I will never be OK with spending the amount of money you need for a Vintage Jaguar these days. Even if I saved it, I would not spend it. Stupid money.
Back when they were £800-£1000 it might have happened.

2. Yeah, the Classic Player does just do it for me, the neck is lovely and clubby like I like them and the pickups are full sounding. Plus it's way stable and a really nice guitar

Well I wasn't expecting that. SUNBURST + TORT > ALL.

The sunburst is really nice on that guitar mike.
I was very impressed with the classic jag I played with on sunday, it suits mike really well.

So what guitar are you gonna buy now?

Lovely guitar :)
Did I see you say you were going to sell the Mustang?!

What was that last little riff you played? I recognise it.

I think it's Dinosaur Jr but I actually just stumbled across it by accident a few weeks ago. I probably don't play it correctly.

Yeah Thom, the Mustang is going to go. I don't see the sense in having it and the Duo-Sonic, two so very similar guitars. I really like it so I'll be sorry to see it go, but you know me. I'm all about selling to buy.

What kind of post is that? Are you high?

This makes ZERO sense.

That's the way I see it too, since I'm not a Trem user, I think this model is for people like me.

Fair play. Makes sense.

i was underwhelmed by the single-coil mim jag, but really enjoyed the humbucker version when i played them.
still, glad you got a jag you like and didn't cost you an arm and a leg.

I'm not a humbucker guy (any more).

Everything about the MIM Jaguar seemed to impress me, I like the new bridge, the trem placement, the neck, the pickups... - but I know you and I have completely conflicting tastes in guitar sounds.

The only thing that I don't like is the rhythm circuit which is really dark, I'm going to fix that though.

are the pots 1meg?

I'll have to check, but I doubt it. You can hear on the video how dark it is.

yeah, i watched the video. the rhythm circuit has never been that dark on any jag i've owned. i don't really use it all that much.

It's about the same on my CIJ, pretty useless unless you want doogtone.

Which no-one EVER wants.
