Highway one strats (HSS)

Anyone on here own one of the new "upgraded" ones? I played one of them and really liked it, also liked the MIA Standards but they're a little too pricey.

Are there any problems that common in them (tuning, hardware, etc..). Are they built as well as the MIA standards?

i cant get past the shit paint they use on hw1's

it looks like fucking house paint. whats the deal with that shit. it doesn't look "vintage" it just looks like shit.

gibson followed suit when they had the venus LP that came in awesome colors and had a junior slab body on it BUT THEY USED FUCKING HOUSE PAINT ON IT just like hw1's.

actually i cant remember if it was the gibson venus LP or the goddess LP. whatever

Ha, what would you suggest that can play agressive punk, grunge and 90's alt/pop rock (Sonic Youth, Pixes, RHCP, etc..)

budget being like 800...don't mind going used.

Get a classic player Jaguar or Jazzmaster. They're $700 new IIRC.

The one with the buckers goes for 799 new, and I can't find a store in montreal with it...or any other jaguar besides the Jap HH, which I don't like too much.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need 1 humbucker for my bands agressive punk style.

Nah, I really don't wanna buy a black guitar (unless there was no PG), or a white one.

I have a thing for sunburst/tobacco burst...they all look the same to me sienna & green burst too....but green burst is only on a bunch of guitars that have gay ass Active EMG's.

Do the people on Shortscale.org like Schecters C-1 Classic, or C-1 Black Jack

Also a guitar store near my house has a cyclone...never seen one before but the guy says it's like a mustang with 3 pups, and apparently the person that sold it to the store modded it, it's also only like 575$

I've never actually played a highway 1 strat but the jazz and p basses were awful. The necks are notorious for warping. Oh and they have no tone... I mean they have the knob for tone but the tone fucking sucks... Just buy an mim standard. They're way better... And the paint looks better

I just don't get this. I've never ever plugged in my tele, kicked on the big muff and thought "oh, gee, I wish this guitar were louder."
I'm serious here, why do peopple "need" humbuckers?
