Anyone recommend a nice cheap(?) acoustic pickup... ?

I was lookin' at the Seymour Duncan woody at my work but they've currently sold out and I need one for wednesday for an open mic night ... they have another pickup that's about £11 which have 2 independent tabs that stick inside the guitar.. but this would mean boaring out the hole where the strap button currently lives and I'm no sure at least by price it would be worth doing... so I'm a bit unsure which route to go... anyone help ?

Can't recommend any specific models, but if you're going magnetic make sure it's humbucking. I made the mistake of getting a single coil and it buzzes like crazy.

i say go with a nice single coil and wire it jack direct..
i put a lace single in mine
and i fdig it,was about a $30 job
but i'd had the pup for about 8 years i think i bought it for like $25.00
however that was in the late 90's and also the store may have been going under

This is the one I use in my Martin, which I refuse to modify to take a permanently mounted one.

It's not bad. Doesn't quite work as well as a true mounted piezo p/u, but it does fine with some EQ tweaking. They've revoiced it since I bought mine, so maybe it's a little warmer. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy a Fishman. They've always had better clarity and depth to my ear, but they're a bit more $$$ typically.

I have a Fishman Neomag. It is very nice, but buzzes a lot since it's a single-coil. It sounds natural enough that I've used it for recording.

Thanks for the advice peeps...

I've asked my Dad to send me my old schaller acoustic pickup, so I'll see how that holds up for wednesday.
