What's the general consensus on the Bassman 70? I know that people rave about the Bassman 50's and 10's, but I don't know much about the 70's, 100's, and 135's. I like the idea of getting a higher watt version so that I can use it for bass as well as guitar. Also, $400 seems like a good price, especially if it includes the 412 cab. My only qualm is that it is about a 2 hour drive away, so I can't just go check it out on whim.

Four hundred dollars for ANY vintage fender tube head is a pretty great deal by my standards, so long as it still works well.
Pitch a nice 4x12 in and make it a crazy-great deal.
I'd be all over that, if I were you.

Yeah, I've got a friend selling a '77 Basman 70 for $600 without a cab.
The cab makes the deal so sweet. DEW IT BRO BRAH DUDE.

GOOD! Hope it works out, man.
If it does, you should demo the rig.
I'm really curious as to what what a bassman sounds like trough a vintage ampeg 4x12.
I'm sure it'll sound pretty awesome, though.

Yeah, I am really hoping that he's still got it. Does anyone here have any personal experience with a Bassman 70? Do they sound as good as the legendary Bassman 50? I know mewithoutus has got to have some more information on it.

The guy I know that's selling his, I'm pretty sure I've heard it. It's Casey of Bathtub Gin by the way.
