ha - not quite.. very similar to tapped SD-Qtr Pounders (SSL-4), but made by Tom Anderson (ST series?) - found them going for a song on eBay a while back, single coils with three wires: common, 14-ish KOhm and 7-ish KOhm depending on how you wire them up. The mini toggles are three-way, so full/off/tapped for each pickup. Tapped sounds very vintage while full is more like a P90.

7k is still pretty hot for a single coil.

Maybe a little hotter than standard - they work well together though. mids can get a bit much in full mode, unless try to ape a jazz guitar or something, so there's a weird torres mid-shifter/tone control in place of a standard tone pot, to scoop or boost as needed... but generally it's incredibly versatile..

If you're strumming down there, you've gone too far.

nah, i can see how you'd at least hit the top one whilst strumming above the middle pickup.

I can't. You must be an even more spasmodic player than me.

i need to photograph it properly - phone cameras never do things justice i suppose...

switches don't get in the way - it's no worse than a 5-way with a stupid switch top. The only thing that can get in the way is the chrome domed volume pot when using the trem. It's in the same position as a bog standard strat knob (there's a single tone pot roughly between where the other two tone knobs would be) but realised afterwards why people who build strats with chrome knobs as standard generally move the knob a bit further away from the bridge pickup...

works well for violining (volume swells) though.
