Would this be straight forward or would there be issues?
Anyone on here actually done it?

cheers

You're biggest problem would be the placement of the bridge since Jazzy necks are a full 1.5" longer than a jags. So even if it fit fine it wouldn't intonate.

That being said, I'm sure there's somebody here who's done a 25.5 scale jaguar before.

Hmm, could be tricky then.

now that I think about it, the Jag has such a long body that you could route two new bridge post holes just below the current bridge and cover the original holes with a custom scratchplate as the current bridge fits over the pickgaurd.

Why would you want to? Jag necks are awesome.

I just feel more comfortable with the longer scale. I love the neck on my Jm but miss having a Jag.

I think the easier solution would be to replace the Jazzy pickgaurd with Jag hardware if its just the look that you're missing.

I don't want to mess with my Jazzmaster i love it. Just fancy a Jag with a longer neck. I have seen them with the longer scale but wasn't sure if there would be issues re the intonation.

This guy has made some if you go to his pics (MBV). He also made/put a longer scale neck on a Mustang. I'm taking my JM to him for a set up some time soon so will quiz him about it then.

The scale length is 1.5" bigger, only half of that is difference in the necks. At least comparing a Strat to a Mustang.

MBV has a couple of shortscales like this, from an overlay of the jag and jazzmaster, if you get a custom pickguard, you just move the bridge back and you can put another pick up where the bridge used to be.

Put the neck on, measure the scale, drill two holes, move the bridge. Easy peasey.
