Just bought a Jaguar

After much lusting after, I finally took the plunge and ordered a Candy Apple Red MIM Jaguar. I ordered through American Musical Supply and chose the three easy payments option (I just learned of this and it seems too good to be true.) Anyway, with Christmas just around the corner I figured I'd pay the first payment and probably get nearly enough cash for Christmas to pay it off. I also chose Saturday delivery so I should have pics tomorrow.

Sorry for the worthless post but I'm rather excited.

Congrats, I played a CAR one a while back felt damn good, I didn't find much of a difference in the AVRI and the MIM one.

Thanks guys, I'm definitely glad to hear the first hand reviews! It was a tough call between the the CAR and sunburst...but I've had several sunburst guitars and never a candy apple red. I figured for 50 bucks cheaper I'd give red a try.

I'm not normally a CAR fan but I think it looked really nice in person on teh MIM Jag I saw, darker and more rich than it appears in photographs.

Yeah most reds look pretty shitty on photos on MF...or even on fender.

but in person they look alot better.

EX : Dakota Red on mustangs, and CAR on Jags :)

Awesome! I'm quite happy to hear this. I've not seen one in person and it's not like me to take a leap of faith like that. Tracking info says it'll be delivered tomorrow before noon. Stoked!

Same here. I saw one and was like WTF, this isn't the CAR I've seen.

Happy days. this experience with Hurb sealed me getting a Classic Player Jaguar.

Damn the CAR looks good on me. WHAT TO DO?

I was trying to remember if I played that guitar or not, and then there I am in the video doing just that.

The MIM CAR comes stock with Mint. It does look hot to trot.

i thought so. the one i played was in the back of the "special room" so the lights were crap, it sounded really nice, but the action/ overall feel of the guitar was complete crap, and i was not diggin the trem AT ALL!
i would probly get one if it were cheap enough i could get an american trem and call it a day.

This thing is amazing. The mint guard is much "greener" than I expected which I'm very happy about. The pickup covers are aged perfectly. The neck may be the most comfy neck I've ever played. It's been a while since I played a shortscale so I was a little nervous but that was unfounded. The rosewood is so dark and rich. The action is crazy low. Slight fretbuzz when it's unplugged on the low E at about the 15th or 16th fret but I'm not too worried about that. I've not owned too many brand new guitars so this out of the box feeling is new to me...I'm very pleased!

I'm trying to snap some decent pics with my shitty camera.

Glad you're happy with it, that echoes all my experiences with the Classic Players. I've been really, really impressed. I think Robert must have played a lemon, everyone knows Fender makes some shoddy examples every now and then, I know mine is a beauty, it passed teh Doog test too.

im sure that it was a crackpot.
like i said, it sounded awsome and i would have more intrigued if the action had been decent(i like high actiong but this thing was unbelievable) and the trem felt wierd to me.
but the sound, once again, was really nice.
btw it was the single coil modle like you have mike. not the HB version

I've never played the Humbucker version either, I didn't want to risk liking SCUMBAG buckers again.

Not really, I just love single coil Jaguars, it's the only way it should be in my opinion.
