i figured i would get the shortscale opinion.
whats the best pedal reverb you have used/owned?

I like me marshall rf-1, but mostly because it has reverse reverb. Could do with a mix knob though.

I've got a Spring King and love it. Only does spring reverb, though.

whats the sounds like.
is it generic sounding tho, like alot of solid state amps, or is it roomy and full?

i actually found that video, then looked at the thread, saw you posted it and LOL'D really loud.
i don't need something that intense but the spring intrigues me, and the fact that you can kick it is cool.
can it do a decent subtle reverb?

Depends what sort of reverb your chasing.

That Marshall of Zaphod clearly rocks the house for shoegazey sounds and probably a few others.... I really Like the look of that if you want to do big washes of stuff....I have no idea if it can go all dick dale

Verbzilla is pretty cool can do about any mode in the world, loads of spring modes, plates, caves, hall, room an Octo up setting to get some really beautiful texture can be massive.... it's at it's best here as opposed to the spring simulation I think

The Digitech Hardwire Reverb pedal thats just come out looks really uber cool, like a higher quality version of the above I would say.... does a reverse reverb which is rare

I like the boss reverbs but they are not going to sound like a fender spring but they really fill things out well and sound lush, probably a bit expensive for what they are.... new anyway.

Electro Harmonix reverbs are pretty cool for just that basic spring sound they can sound really splashy and wet....and can get big on the hall setting... they are a good grab and go pedal for a reverbless amp but they won't give you many new options....

Yeah it can, for that I was just piddling about with the extremes, I had it on full for the clean, and about halfway when it was overdriven. I wanted something with a real spring in it, you see.

Nah, the spring reverb doesnt go as wet as that, it's not subtle but it's not massive.

i really like the idea of a spring reverb as well.

Behringer clone of the Verbzilla?

anyone had any experience with it.

I was about to chime in with the Behringer - I know Hurb rates his.

I lucked out on a used EBS model for $120, and haven't looked back. Lots of headroom/volume retention with some really flexible settings for rooms and halls, but it really shines in the plate department.

i've always wanted to check that ebs reverb, when i was still playing bass, but instead got an ehx holy grail for reverb, too bad really because i still don't know wether the ebs does over the top splashy bathtub reverb too (arsecake's spring king sounds awesome)

I've noticed that it comes pretty close on the more extreme room settings, but with a tad less of a bright reonant edge that the Spring King has. Great for bass and guitar nonetheless.

makes sense since it's mainly designed for bass use, i reeeally wish that spring king would be smaller, love the idea of being able to kick the pedal and get those awesome sounds out of it,
pssst.. hey aen, make the most insane spring reverb pedal that's wetter than any reverb ?

i have a holier grail reverb but its a little broken and needs to get fixed.
on short theres a huge volume drop so i have to have it on long reverb and then just turn back heaps to get a little reverb without losing too much sound.

im thinking of getting the marshall or hardwire just for the reverse reverb effect

anyone has the new hardwire? i was thinking of trading my verbzilla for one, because of the reversed reverb, is it worth it?
