Another Strat

So i got a nice big chunk of holiday pay to clear my overdraft and i thought i'd treat myself to a nice cheap Strat.
I went for this coz its orange more than anything, its a Tom Delonge model too which suits me with the 'bucker and set bridge. It a Squier bullet series limited edition apparently, the neck seemed a bit weak so i've put Maliks old maple MIK neck on it. Complete with Fender decal.
It plays nice and is really light. Squier stuff never ceases to amaze me how much quality you get for little money.
Here it is...

The colours are cool, reminds me of my childhood somehow ... cars and Sofas had these colours back then. I'm also into Squiers (though I would alwys try before buying), but not into strats. That's maybe not a fault of the Strat itself, it's more the way that one has seen it too often ... any lousy lumber mill in China, Corea or elsewhere made crappy Strat things over the last 25 years ... in every supermarket you can get a crappy Strat ...
I have a Bullet Strat off the actual series. That was the cheapest way to get a somewhat decent Strat, and I would not have paid more for one. But I did put real good Pickups in it. Sounds so fantastic now, you would never believe it to be the cheapest playable guitar in the market. But I don't like the bridge being also the Tremolo, and I have no use for most of the sounds. It's a lead guitar. It never sounds or feels right to play chord on it.

At least it doesn't have horrible black tuners.
This is the sort of guitar Hitler would play.
Fran, you're a Nazi.

So what's the bucker in this thick?
Duncan designed or one of those Dragster buggers from the Jag-Stang? that Jag-Stang bucker is great.

Just some nameless thing, its got plenty of low end and is pinch harmonic friendly so i'll leave it be for now. On the higher end Delonge models they have a Duncan Invader.

I keep hankering after a 70's Classic Player, one of the MIM jobs. One of the best necks I've ever played on, and a cool enough headstock to outweigh its essential strattiness.

i'd rock that, single pickup guitars are great for boosting your thinking whilst playing. nowhere to hid on one of those.
