my flatmate has a 96 jagstang in red (fiesta or whatever bullshit) and he really wants teh kurdtz from it. he says the single coil sounds like shit (so does the hum, but that's not where the gayunstraightness spawns from), and he wants to drop something else in it's place. HIS SUGGESTION WAS A FUCKING LIPSTICK TUBE. other than being really ugly, and not fitting properly (from my mild research) please give me other reasons why this is totally gay dude-loving, and uncalled for, and will ruin an already super gay queer guitar. unless you love it.

p.s. ~ when i mentioned the size difference he said he'd just "wrap it in that foam tape stuff." so that let's you know what kind of douche i'm dealing with here. he will see everything posted, so be as honest as you are with me about my saying dude's guitar was homo straight looking, and owning an epi goth LP.

i wouldn't apologize for posting about jagstangs, but your approach is a little rough for a n00b.

anyhoo, some people like the look of lipsticks on just about any guitar, but i wouldn't do it on a jagstang, personally.

Ahem. Well, in seriousness, the problem is really both pups. Personally I'd do a Duncan "made for Jag" single and pick any bucker of his choosing for the bridge. Both really need to be replaced.

I think two angled strat-retrofit lipsticks (mustang guard style) on a [sonic blue] jag-stang would look really awesome and surfy, probably helped by the white pearloid of the guard. The white pickups on jag-stangs has always bothered me aesthetically. Perhaps because they've altered the classic mustang black covers on a white guard scheme, and then put the pearloid on there as well, too cheapo looking. Maybe not CHEAPO, but like, a total minger wearing low-rise jeans going "ooo look at me" while spilling out the waistband like an overbaked french loaf. Tacky.

I'm thinking I'll be salvaging all stangy parts from my JS soon and doing a Warmoth extravaganza the likes of which I will never afford.
