"this p-bass has seen it's fair share of abuse... in a fender shop in a 3rd world country, before it even had strings."

anyone know of any prices? esp. the 60's strats? fender.com doesn't say anything about them. thanks for the find!

why the FUCK is the maple on the necks still white as shit.
if its supposed to be a lil bit vintage, put some fucking tint on it.
" wow this white has turned to cream, but the neck is still whiter than my balls"

As long as they don't mark them up a lot more than the regular models then this might be cool. I really like the look of the fiesta red 60's jazz bass!

I heard $840 for the Strats and Telecasters. Oh Dear.

If they did a Jazzy or a Jag I might at least FEIGN interest.

ROLF @ Fender cutting it down to manky sunburst + only one solid colour.

I can never tell if they're just not trying, or if they're purposely taking the piss.

Fender needs another Bill Schultz to turn this shit round before they go all the way down the tubes.

*edit* also lets remember that the fucking standards series is up in price AGAIN this year. that's a 50% increase in 6 years.

it seems like the angle is supposed to be that they are like broken-in jeans... but guitars are not jeans and it's not worn in as if you personally had played it for years... so it can't really be about comfort, can it? hard to understand what the appeal is exactly.

Road worn=poop. Bad idea, bad execution, just gross all around. Does anyone know if we'll see a price increase on the classic player's line (especially the jaguar) for 2009? Those are the only new Fender products that interest me at all. I've been seeing a lot of Squiers on stages in NY lately, and I think there will be more showing up if Fender can't turn it around. Too little variation and innovation in the line, too few colors, stupid "relics," and all of it costs too much.
