STOP THE PRESSES! New Dano for 2009!

Alright, here's what they're reissuing this year:
It's an adaptation of the Coral Hornet, which was also marketed in a single PUP version as the third generation amp-in-case Silvertone from Christmas '66 to Dano's close in '68. It has the original style meat-cleaver headstock (copied from Kay) and, most excitingly, a reissue of the Danelectro hand-vibrato unit. The vibrato is basically the standard steel baseplate with rosewood saddle, but has 2 springs attached and a large Bigsby handle. There will also be a baritone version, which was not available originally.
VERY EXCITING.

Looks cool, but I fucking hate the feel of brushed metal.
Gives me the heebie-jeebies, like.

I imagine they'll be in the $250-$300 range. Add a little cost for the vibrato, but cyt a bit b/c it's a solid body. So it'll probably even out. Fort Madison is pre-selling for $415, but they're always super high and have http from the mid-90s.
I always thought the "meat cleaver" headstock was the one Kay used that had that unique German bevel on the treble side. Oh well, could be wrong and probably am. I always heard the square one called the "refrigerator".
In any case, EXCITED!!!
also, I just noticed that it's William who pointed out my headstock faux pas. Are there 2 Dano fans named William on this board?

I wouldn't bother, they are not exact copies. for example look at the lack of switching options. just have fun and rock out with a super cool looking guitar that harps back the OG.

WOW. I hadn't seen the full size picture yet. They even copied the "Totally Shielded" TRC and the knobs. The great thing is that there will now be parts available for all the og hand-vibrato models.

Why is that cheap? A 335 is built the same way - plywood over a solid wood frame. Also, I'm sure it will be a true solid body.
