Called in at a local guitar shop today on the way home from work. The guy asked me what i thought of this particular Aria guitar for the money... Its an Aria PE Gothic.
I must say at £200 if you want some hot LP rawk this is brilliant. Great spec. Duncan Invaders, set neck, alder body, really solid guitar. Better than stuff twice its price imo.
It's shocking how nice cheap guitars are these days.
One of my pupils got a Yamaha 012. Now, obviously you wouldn't want to go gigging with it as it is, but the build is solid and the finish is great looking. For not much money you could put new pickups and a new bridge in there and it'd be a decent guitar well worth gigging.

didn't know there was a Duncan Designed version of the Invader, that'd be interesting to hear. I bet tits to clits, the difference could be heard. Sure, for the money...

Yeah, I have one on my Squier Tom Delonge Strat, its white instead of black. Its a Duncan Designed HB-01, called the 'Detonator' "and is based on the high-output, Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader....".
It sounds pretty good I think.
I didn't realize Aria were back in business. How's the build quality on these?
For many years, the only instrument I owned was an Aria Pro 2 SB1000 bass. I still have it. It's a fantastic instrument, I gigged with it many times and I'll never sell it, even though it doesn't get as much play these days.
Too bad this one is just another knockoff of Gibson's Gothic series. Didn't Gibson stop the Gothics like 5 years ago?

Surprisingly good. I'd say they where middle of their range, they make some entry level stuff but these are like aimed at intermediate/gigging musicians. They also have some higher end guitars, but the ethic is affordable quality which is very welcome in our current climate.
