not announcing them or anything, so don't think not another classic vibe thread\
Looking at buying one [tax moneys coming soon too]
Who has had the chance to playone? None of the shops around here have any so i can't go see for myself. Which means i would be stuck ordering online, not a bad thing, i just don't get to pick and choose. But i was just wondering who has one or who has even played them. I'm really looking for a tele, but the 50s and 60s strats both sound excellent [on youtube even]
So whats the overall build, sound quality, and is there anything i'll desire to replace on them? [tuners, bridge block, ect]
[also, already have a strat, a HH tele in the works, and a duo. so the CV Tele would be something new for me]

I've played the Telecaster and it's brilliant. The neck is lovely and also tinted a lovely Vintage amber colour. Such great guitars and soo soo cheap abroad. Do it.

I didn't really like the tele. The guy in the shop loved it, but I'd been playing a Baja and the squier obviously didn't compare.

also comtemplating buying Jimmy's tele body for 100 and putting a mim neck onnit
which would be the better route?
spend 250 for a mim tele, or 300 for a tinted, pine, pre-mojo tele
fuck

hmmmm, dunno.
The squier definitley isn't a bad guitar. It's just that I didn't like the neck on it and the pickups on the baja are excellent

Do you mean if you are abroad to pick one up or importing into the UK mike?

Well.....
Jimmy's tele was once mine... ( I just bought it to use the neck and then sold him the body and pups.etc....)
I own a squire CV tele.
The CV tele blows away the mexican one for fit and finish.
The pups (although not as nice as the BAJA as I had one of those too) are great for a standard tele. Much better than the MIM ones I think
I love the 3 saddle brass bridges.
The neck is great if you like the wide/fat tele necks.
If you want to go cheap, get Jimmy's tele and slap a cheap neck on their and get your tele on.
If you want a better sounding higher end instrument get the CV.
To get a neck as well made and glossed like the CV has will cost you 200 or so..
One side thing, the MIM body with a neck may hold value a little better (not sure on this though) as I think that these squire guitars are going to be underpriced on the used market due to the whole "but it's just a squire dude...." mentality. I see people giving shit to people all the time on craigslist trying to sell a vista or other Jap squire from the 80's etc saying "WTF dude, 300 for a squire...I can go buy a new squire tele for $$$) Who nows...

I have the Classic Vibe Jazz Bass and the build quality is excellent. The frets are finished very well with no sharp edges, and the gloss finish on the neck looks and feels very much like my CIJ 65 Mustang. The pickups sound great to my ears, although I haven't compared it to other jazz basses. The quality is much higher than only other bass I've owned, which was a late 90's MIM P-bass. For $300, I have no complaints.

I really like all the ones that I've played. The basses sound and feel awesome, and are lightweight too. As for the guitars, I haven't gotten to play the tele yet, but I really liked the Duo that I played the other day.

I have also owned a differnet MIM tele, a baja tele, and hamer tele, a fender custom shop tele, and the ROBOG tele.
The CV plays better than any of them except the baja and the custom shop. In those cases you are looking at 800+ new for a baja and 1500 used for the custom shop. The CV is great. Again, if budget is a concern, then pick up Jimmy's tele and slap a neck on the bitch.

oh, no worries. like i said, i'm going to probably throw it on the bay if it sits here much longer. i actually like it, but i've got an almost painful hunger to own a jag...too much listening to elvis costello lately methinks.

I meant the US. They're half the price they are in England over there.
