Lol. How did we miss this one?

Also, Wild Guitars in Highgate has a Jolana Tornado (albeit a pristine one with OHSC) for sale for £950. Takes_the_piss.

£652 for the Diamant. TBH not a bad price for made in Czech Republic with Schaller/Seymour Duncan hardware.

Oh, new Tornado is quite hot!

it would look cool with Zebras, but I despise that style tailpiece.

I was bidding on an old Jolana sometime back - pretty cool that they're getting back in the game.

Yeah. Although I think (I can't read the czech site and the jolana.eu site isn't too helpful) the new Jolana has as much to do with the old as the resurrections of Hagstrom and Framus. But at least, unlike Hagstrom, they're still being made in the original country.

The guy in the shop had the cheek to tell me the old Tornado is rare. I used to see these weekly in Berlin, and they crop-up on ebay all the time. There's a grey-black burst Studio on ebay.de, that's rare.

One month later....

Hello Tim,

I am Jiri from the NBE Corp. that owns the brand Jolana and that produces
the guitars. The Jolana Tornado is a copy of the model that used to be made
in 60´s. But it has some modern features like up-to-date hardware and
pickups. Also the technology and woodworks have improved since those times.
The construction of the body includes the center block piece.

At the moment we do not have a distributor of Jolana in your country but we
are trying to get somebody who would be interested in. The only chance to
test the guitar is by purchasing the guitar or coming to Czech Republic and
visit our company. If we get a distributor in the UK I would inform you.

Have a nice day,

Jiri

JOLANA ... all you need
