Lol @ Fran Strat. I asked them for a sig model but i did'nt think they had finished it yet...
It looks identical to the 80's Contemporary Series except it has a Floyd instead of Fenders take on a Floyd.
I like the Mustang but Jazzys made me yawn.

Thats right. It had Lace Sensors in it and a side jack, Doog has the Tele version.

are they still not selling to Europe?

Jazzmasters don't need comp stripes. Mustangs don't need humbuckers.

Everything is wrong. Boring colors, boring mods. All 3 of those Jazzmasters look like Squier colors. I don't like the black/white combo on fenders in either inversion, and OTM makes me yawn. Fender Japan has definitely done better.

What's with the Ramones Mustang? Has there been a high demand for one of those?

I don't get the aluminum guard hate, IMO it's still the only way to make sunburst look respectable, and looks amazing on greenish colors...

I hate humbuckers so I can't really like the Mustang... Unless that's a Firebird pickup, but wait, it says SD so it isn't.

Comp stripes are actually a good idea on anything, but I suspect (hope) that as usual, they'll offer those in a few more finishes (other than the boring ones) and with matched stocks, etc... Also, the pearl guards on those look horrible, as most modern pearl guards do.

The comp jazzy's look awesome, except I hate perloid pickguards. The ramones stang looks pretty awesome too.

I've always seen the mustang as a guitar that people play to get a specific sound, much like the jaguar and telecaster. I know nothing is really sacrilege with you in terms of modifying guitars, and I definitely have thrown humbuckers in some of my favorite single coil guitars (look at my poor Blazer), but if you're buying a brand new guitar to get a humbucker sound there's already tons of options, I don't see the reason to go with a mustang, unless you just want teh kurdtz

On the subject of the Ramones-Stang, i can see the likeness but Johnnys white Mosrite had a single in the bridge and stop tailpiece. Coincidently it is my next build, ive ordered a custom guard and i need a tracing off Hurbs mosrite copy for the body template.

Probably still do, along with 50% of everything else. Someone was saying that Fender, Gibson and PRS just about own everything.

I think its Fender, Gibson and Peavey or Taylor that own everything.

PRS are the third biggest guitar company so i suspect it is them although i could be wrong.

Thing is Fender and Gibson are larger because they don't just make guitars. Thats why Peavey is in there. My might not own other companies but I think the own the distribution rights of many.

That, sir, will be fucking wicked. Maybe one day I'll scrape together the cash to let RogOG loose on my dream guitar - slightly oversized Mosrite body, routed semi-hollow like a thinline tele, 70's strat RI neck with 'ossin' gurt headstock, and a P90 / mini-hum combo: *italian-chef-finger-kiss*.

I dunno if this Fender-Humbucker-Krudtz mentallity is strong on here because most of us came off JS.Com but its not relevant to me. I never really liked Nirvana and i certainly dont respect Cobain as a player like i do others. The thing is i like Fender guitars, more so offsets and 'Stangs, but i find it difficult to get the sounds i need with single coils. Fair enough, i could use a lot of FX like Aaron North does with NIN to achieve heavier sounds with his Cyclone and Jazzmasters and its something i have been looking into. But an easier option is humbuckers.
I hear what your saying about inherant tone but theres a few odd guys out there like myself that want something different. Fender obviously know this hence the variety in what was once a strictly traditional market.
