I saw a thread or post somewhere on here about Fender raising their prices. I spoke to someone yesterday at Soundslive and they confirmed that Fender are putting their prices up next Monday by 10%.

Yep, I was doing some guitar shopping the other day in Manchester, and every shop I went in mentioned it...

When I spoke to the staff in Musicground, they said it was a 20% rise, the money-grubbing cunts. Johnny Roadhouse is the only decent guitar shop in town nowadays, and I was doubly pissed off yesterday when they guy told me they'd finally got rid of the Fralin they'd had for five years at a paltry £250, AND it had a celebrity connection to Paul Ryder, too. FUCK.

Will Squier have the price rise too? Since there an off brand Fender Company.

ALL GUITARS.
Not just Fender. Minimum 10% rise, 30% in some cases.

Old news. I heard 35% and apparently the manufacturing in China has gone tits up so you can expect an increase in a lot of budget guitars as well.

Besides the price rise. Im not buying an actual Fender for a while... Im happy with my Jaguar as is.
The Squier rise kind of got to me though. If i want another Fender I'll hunt ebay for parts to make one.

They can buy off you when you finally downsize that ridiculous collection of yours.

I suppose the 'upgrades' and choice they offer. Years ago MIM stuff was the poor mans Fender, with Jap and US viewed as better. But not now.
There seems to be a big shift that has been developing over several years with Fender and Squier, its like Jap models are becomming guitars in there own right like US models whilst MIM is the new MIJ and MIK is the new MIM. The chinese stuff seems to be the old korean market.

Yeah, I know, just seems odd to have those crazy Mezcans priced as highly as the Japanese ones. It's not tradition, and as a guitarist, I am afraid when companies break from tradition.
