stupid jag-stang prices.

Post by robert(original) »

i can't believe how much these things are now!
i looked thru g-base and the cheapest is.
695.
and the most expensive is over 1,200.00 bucks!
i bought mine for a lil over 350, andi thought that was alot.
even the BIN's on ebay are around 800 bucks.
that is crazy talk! and i actually like my jag-stang and think its a good guitar, but i would never pay more then about 500 bucks for a superb jag-stang with case.

...Yes, especially ridiculous when you consider how cheap a parts/70s Mustang will go for these days...

At this rate, there's no reason really to buy a new RI over something relatively vintage :?

that was kinda my thought, i know i have seen mustang re-issue's go for less than 600.00, and vintage stangs for less than 900.00
so you might as well get something better.
it just blows my mind that people out there are paying this much for these things.
granted if i got mine stolen and found one that felt exactly the same i would pay 1,000.00 for it easy,
but mines not stock by a long shot.
you gotta figure on average someone is paying more than 900 bucks for a j.s.
i bought my avri OTC jaguar with all the case candy for 900 bucks exactly from a shop in new york.

The popularity seem to peak at certai times. The last one I saw for sale here (on Gumtree) was only £250. Mustangs are generally anywhere from £250-£400.

Yeah, the market is different here rob. You are lucky to get a Mustang RI for £350, but there is more chance of a JS for that money although they go higher.

It's not ridiculous when you consider I've got one I never play.

My AV strat has also increased 50% more than what I paid for it new on the used market, that's very interesting in a mature, non-shitting-the-pants kinda way as well.
