My friend Amanda and I just got back from seeing Honeyboy Edwards. Dude played for, no kidding, almost 3 hours and told some great stories about dodging the draft in 1942 and getting arrested at a white whiskey still in Georgia. Played "Catfish Blues" and "Big Fat Mama", my favorites. Dude is 93 years old, has been playing pro since '28, and still rips it up like he's in his teens.
Hope I get to see him again - super nice guy and still has a great voice.

He has so many strories. He was there when Robert Johnson died, and Sonny Boy smacked the bottle of whiskey out his hand and told him not drink from any open bottle, RJ told him "don't be knocking no bottle of whiskey out my hand".

I'd be pissed too - whiskey is expensive/delicious. Someone slipped them some moonshine before the show, so they were laughing and slurring like crazy.
