SX Short scale

Post by limeypip »

Hi all,
I've been reading the posts for a while now and I've found some very interesting articalls. So thanks to all.
I own some short scale Sx guitars. It's the only neck length and width that suits me. Two are strat style and the other is a Tele style. One of the strat style is going to have a couple of humbuckers put on it. When this is done I'll be writing a review on all three guitars for the benefit of any one thinking of buying an SX shorty. I'll be looking forward to your comments either possitive or negative.
Steady as you go ---- Phil

It seems rondo music always gets posted here. They might as well sponsor Short Scale.

From reviews I've read alot of people rate them as higher quality than squier.

Like any cheapo manufacturer I'd say it probably is piece to piece, you may get a good one or you may get a bad one. The 24" neck is apparently great though.

I'd be interested in how nice the tele is. I have an SX 335 that's pretty OK.

Welcome Aboard!

Over on the mylespaul.com forum (in the "Other Les Paul" section), they always talk about SX's and Agile's (in the LP body style of course). Those that own them, love them. Good quality materials, tight construction, great sound. I haven't seen a negative post about them yet.

As an aside, rondomusic is super good to deal with, and ship faster than you can imagine.

Aww that sucks. They have the full scale versions which say "Full scale version of the popular SJMB short scale model". Popular? And they got rid? :(

Their stock does seem to constantly shift and they update the site immediately when something runs out. I'd say keep checking back, it may resurface again.

http://www.rondomusic.com/sjmbpbu.html

That is hot, full scale or not. I may sell my Vista P-Bass and nab one of those.

EDIT:
I emailed them about the blonde tele's and the sjmb bass's.

Here's the response:

"Sold out !
We should have more back in this spring or summer

Kurt"

Now the question is do I go for the burst tele or force myself to wait for the blonde to be available again...

Ah that's cool. I wish they had them in the UK, so i could try one out. I read a review of the jag bass before, for the price it sounded great.
