i think it's been asked a mmillion times yet i can't find a thread that answers the question but i'm sure there is
anyway
q : would a japanese mappple strat neck (lefty OR right) fit a lefty mustang ? what about other cij necks.. jag, jazz etc.. are they the same width at the heel etc ?

Fairly certain it should fit, but it won't intonate for fuck unless you move the bridge.

yeah that's the sucky thing, love shortscales, love maple
but maple shortscales, for some reason, or not that common
it's just a stupid idea i was playing with like if a cheapie neck would show up somewhere sometime

I'm sure people will be parting out those new squier duo-sonics sooner or later.

The squier duo uses a conversion neck, so it won't intonate on a mustang.

Ah... same body as the MIM reissue duo then? That also had a conversion neck. I think it's the same body as the squier musicmaster as well, which was a 25.5" I think.

yea, the CV duo is basically a 90s duo done up like a 50s duo. the 90s duo had that weird super shortscale neck. but yea strangely enough, I think it was actually a conversion neck. I measured my 90s duo before and it was almost perfect for a 25.5" neck. you'd just have to adjust the saddles a bit (but they have a lot of play).
HVM: another option would be a 90s duo. they have maple necks and you can get a complete one for the price of a mustang neck.

thanks bassintom but honestly i don't haev teh cash trying to save all i can really, pathetic, but i was curious about which ones would fit and which ones wouldn't, a shortscale neck seems like a must too intonationwise, stuffs good to know when i can afford it though
