Just wondering if anyone can say whether these are any more collectible or 'worth more' than later reissue mustangs?

(E series coming after the collectible JV and SQ series)

I've found a guy selling a '69 reissue for $450US ish.

i would have to say that mustangs from the 80's are more rare than any other time period they were made.
that being said its a guitar from the 80's in general and not worth anywhere near what the dude is asking for it.


i bet in another 10 or 20 years they are going to skyrocket too just based on lack of quanity in the market

I'd grab it if i were you. E serials are hard to come by, I have a Jaguar and a Jazzmaster both with MIJ E6 serials and they are beyond amazing.

dude, E serial stuff is already going up. probably not as much with offsets as with the more popular fenders but these are definitely starting to go up right now. they're known to be good quality fujigen made guitars. guitars made 25 years ago (1984) are vintage. now would be a good time to get one before they start really going up.

maybe i should hold onto my (lately much talked about) e series strat, then?


what do you think, mage? its almost in perfect condition, very little wear. it was practically NOS when i got it.

well I mean if you like it hang on to it. all 80s MIJ fenders and squiers are bound to go up though and they're already starting to. I'm really not a guitar investment guy though, I think that shit is dumb. but IMO, I see them going up rather steadily from here on.

ive made plenty 'investing' in guitars, but thats not really how i think about it. i just buy good deals when i see em, and sell em later when i want something else, unless its like 'the one'

usually this works out to profit. ive probably made alot of my money back, not sure if ive really spent all that much on guitars if i really do the math.

im thinking of getting the cyclone II back together to see if i wanna keep it or sell it. they seem to be in demand right now.

i took it apart years ago when i was in a... lets call it a phase. i was taking apart everything out of pure curiousity. never got the cyclone back together again, used the pickups in some other things and whatnot. still have all the parts though.

lets call it a chronic disorder, starting with the blasted SNES carts...

haha, yea, you should put that thing back together. it could definitely get you a nickel or three. besides just being a cool guitar.

Put it back together. Thats the best way not to lose parts.

I would just like to reiterate the fact that a new mustang is now NINE-HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS.


$450 is a deal no matter what year it is.
