Isn't that the latest design they pioneered in 1955?

your melody maker, you mean? or did you already get a faded les paul jr?
i guarantee they will want a whole lot more for the junior now than they did for the MM a few years ago. i mean, it has a pickguard, for fucksake!

I think the new LP jr. is around $900.
They do look ace, though. I remember when a '56 LP jr. in playable condition was $600.

RONG.
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Gibson-Les-Paul ... =72%3A1726
unless thats one hell of a deal (or a typo)
650 is not too bad, but i feel like if they were 599 theyd be more attractive to more people.
also, if they have that "faded gibson unfinished frets feeling," fuck em long and fuck em hard.
the other fadeds are just there to look like gibsons and trick people into ordering them sight unseen from musicians friend. they are mostly what are giving gibson's QC dept. a bad name, because they feel like they skipped the process altogether.

That's a totally decent price, when you compare it to Fender as an American made guitar.
I haven't played this run that was linked, the last lp jr./special style I can remember playing was a Custom Shop VOS and it was $1700 street price and excellent.

the fadeds dont compare well to highway 1 fenders, when considering price vs. features/fit/finish/materials, IMO. not sure what H1's go for these days though.

melody maker. they were around £650/$900 when they came out.
i just thought that new jr looked very similar to my MM. i love p90/single pickups guitars. i wish the sg jr would get reissued again.
i'm dying for that pickguard on my MM, jcyphe found some on ebay, that i (like a tool) didn't bid on.

thats not how i remember it. im pretty sure they were about half that.
your MM would look super nice with a pickguard. especially a murky tort one like on those old epiphone jobs.
edit- this isnt old, but its what im talking about:
are we talking about the same H1, or you having a poke at fender price gouging?

that thing is bad fucking ass, its around the same price ($639)and its got a giant fucking wiggi switch you could put inside an airplane cockpit board and not even notice thats how bad ass the wiggi switch is on this thing.

I picked one up in mint condition with a hardcase for £370 locally. Just in time it seems.
