I have a Chilli Dog Octave pedal already but really wish is was poly...
Taking into account I don't have a lot of disposable income what would you go for ?
I can pick up the OC-3 for £75 ish from work / or it's £143 for the Pog from GAK
I know the pog has the octave above and the boss doesn't but is it really worth spending the extra £££s ?
Don't really have much time to test them both, just wanted to see what your verdict was...

A bandmate of mine has the OC-3, and the poly mode seems to track pretty well.
I know you mentioned this, but the OC-3 only does polyphony for down and not up. If that's not important for you, I think the price difference should make this a pretty easy decision. Personally, I'd have more use for the Micro POG's octave-up ability. The POG is even more amazing, but I think it's way too expensive -- same with the HOG.

these are hardly comparable. ask yourself if you need octave up. if you do, the OC3 is not an option at all, if you dont, you wont make use of what you are paying for, regarding the POG.

Thanks guys, think you've made up my mind already... & I was hoping it wouldn't be so pricey.
Is there anythin else in the market that could be a contender to the micro pog & in a similar price bracket ?

It's not exactly a similar device, but the MI Audio Pollyanna is something you may be interested in:

It's a bit more nasty on its own, and doesn't really do the clean stuff that well -- but it is polyphonic.
I would really like one of these.

Thanks for the suggestion there... I think for the price I'd still be better off going for the pog.
What I'd really like to do is achieve the organ like tones on chords, and for it to also respond well with some heavy fuzz - mainly lead work... I would like to avoid muddy-ness. Therefore I think the pog is the answer ?

whammy = horrible tracking 12 string, harmonies

Doesn't track chords, ditto Boss PS-5.
Although I've not played either, I've been much more impressed with the tracking on the M-Pog. I believe Ultrandi has one, I'm sure he can chime in on this.

Yar indeed.
I don't especially like the "tingling tonal krispies" you get when playing the POG on guitar when there's a Ric 360-12 a stone's throw away, but it certainly tracks very well on arrps and chords, even on open strings (where most octave pedals phail due to confusion from harmonic complexity). I've played the OC-3, and formerly owned the Ampeg Sub Blaster and EBS Octabass, and none of them had what the MPog can cleanly pull off.
My fave usage? Playing chords on 5ths with a little lower octave and 60~75% upper octave into the Depth Charge bass fuzz. It's freaking massive, and your band's guitarist will not talk to you for a week.

Thanks guys... definitely going for the Micro pog now...
Managed to spare a few minutes at work today and try the OC-3 out and I was a little disappointed to be honest... my Dano Chilli Dog is nicer even I think.
I'm gonna go try the micro pog sometime when down Denmark Street... to avoid even further disappointment.
