Hi, I'm new to shortscale.org, but I had a quick question (sorry if this has ever been posted before).
I am hoping to find out if 1960s DuoSonic and Mustang bridge placement on the body was the same on 21 fret and 22 fret models.
In other words, can a 21 fret neck be placed on a body that originally had a 22 fret neck without any bridge modification?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think so... because the 21 fret and 22 fret necks are different scales. And if they're different scales they need the bridge to be in different places - i think. I'm no expert on it though.

They are different scales, 21 fret is 22.5" scale, and the 22 fret is a 24" scale, but it doesn't matter, You can interchange the necks. They are compatible.

Really? Wont that mess up the intonation?

thinking logically (so, without any facts or knowledge to base this on), wouldn't the lack of the extra fret position the 12th close to the center of the strings on the shorter scale?
