Fender Telecaster bonerbass

Post by ultratwin »

ultra wrote: Why, Fender? Why? You call it a Telecaster LOTTO bass with '72isms and all the tasty trimmings like a Leo Quan bridge, blocks and binding, wide range buckers, and choose to annoy us with a $6000 price tag hung up exclusively in Guitar Center. You guys are seriously sucking right now. Not happy.

For real. If the top horn were more Tele shaped then we'd be talking. It's ugly as-is.

i think the reason the original tele basses didn't have a tele top horn was for reasons of weight and balance, that's why they came up with the P bass shape. so i read anyway.

I love that bass too! But the price is quite ridiculous. They're on clearance at Musician's Friend for $6,000.... I figured the clearance price would at least be cheaper... but no.

It looks kinda like a music man bass, probably just because of the pickups. I like that it actually has a fucking toggle switch. Like 85% of all the basses out there just have knobs. Looks really cool though, i wanna hear one!

The pickguard sucks dog dick and ruins the whole thing. Great idea though.

Just make a new pickguard with a different upper horn.
Would that solve the problem?

Why is it six grand? There is nothing truely special about it, unless it had CuNiFe pickups, its just a p-bass thats been modified...
Other than the price tag, it is epic.

I like Richards idea, I also did a quick shop of what I think it should look like.

Just the upper horn would have finish.

I don't think it looks right without the top horn, it looks like a Telecaster with a fucking huge boner neck. The body would need to be bigger to balance. Maybe if it was a shortscale neck, then fuck yeah.
