Hi guys,
I have a '65 RI neck on the way for my Duo-Sonic project, and I need to buy bushings for it to fit my Klusons. Do you think I just need standard Bushings, not Conversion ones, right?
Cheers

Um, whatever the cock I ordered 18 months ago for my Duo-Sonic. They were from Warmoth. Their site has changed since and now it bites monkeycocks (like their customer service).
I think they're these:

Gotoh Vintage Style Slot Heads. They have literally no fucking information on their website.

I got these:

and these:

We will see whether I have made a huge mistake when they turn up and the neck is here.

the odds are against you my friend with these bushings.
the only ones i ever got to work ok the first time were from guitarfettish
and even those, the inner radius was good but the outer radius required sanding of the headstock

Yeah, they're definitely not vintage style holes. They're 3/8" which means conversion bushings. Fuck's sake.
Ordered.

Yes. Why are Fender so dumb they don't put Vintage bushings on guitars that have vintage tuners stock?

So Mike, do you have the ones you need, or not? If not, there are two different kinds of those as well. One kind looks like a foot brace that makes you three inches taller, and the other one looks only slightly different from the normal ones, but bigger in the hole. I will try to find pictures.

I've ordered what I "think" are the right conversion bushings, they should arrive tomorrow. They're 10.2mm. If I have to drill the holes then I will.

I am pissed off. The conversion bushings from Axesrus. These ones:
(A)
Have the right external radius for the headstock, but despite being marketed as for 6mm vintage tuners, THEY ARE TOO FUCKING SMALL TO TAKE THE TUNERS.
Fucking livid. I've now ordered these as a final attempt:
Which are supposed to do the exact same fucking thing but look differently. GRR

Have you shouted them abut it? My luthier friend uses axesrus, and I always thought they were pretty legit, despite how shite their website used to be (I understand they had the work experience boy do it over for them). I would sort of like to think they're decent folks, and that they'd do the right thing by you, or at least relist things so as to avoid further confusion.

They are good folks. I'm going to talk to my Dad about it. Maybe we can widen these with a drill in the vice. It's so close to allowing the tuner through but not quite.
