Did Fender ever really put these into production?

No, they made some prototypes that eventually got out to the public, but they were never a production model.

i would kinda like it without all them switches on the lower plate.

But they still fucking rule.

These things are expensiveeee. Probably well worth it though. Kinda wish these were released.

They're not expensive, they're priceless. They do not exist to buy. There are something like 8 in the world, and they're not readily for sale. Therefore they hold no value.

I'm pretty sure they're all in museums/collections. That just wouldn't happen. Fender has most of them, and I believe a couple are owned by big guitar shops, but certainly not for sale. The image you see there is perhaps one of a kind, as the others seem to follow the older design. They're all really prototypes.

Yeah every one is different that I've seen. One had hidden pickups which was pretty bad-ass.
I though a big guitar collector had one of the early prototypes though... What I don't get is that 1969 Fender as enough baws to release the arrow but won't manufacture and release this monster. It looks like it would of sold more. Even if the swingers were pretty cool.
And yes I know why the arrow was done, To get rid of extra stock if I'm not mistaken...

Yep. Private Collectors, How the hell do they get the money for all that gear? I can barely afford pedals, guitars, and amps. Let alone '50 Esquires and '57 Strats.

Seriously when I was looking for Telecaster videos on Youtube 90% of them were WMB players "noodling" on their Tele's with that Tubescreamer blues tone with a Fender 50's RI tube amp.
Not that I'm downing the gear just the dicks playing it.

I think it would I mean Rabbit if you had all of your favorite vintage lefty guitars would you rock them. Or as reece said keep them In a temperature controlled room where there neglected and not used for what they're meant for... rocking.

Of course I would play them , I think we are coming from two different sides here, but with a similar opinion.
But I'm stating that the since the gear doesn't belong to us, why should it matter to us?
I hate people who collect a hoard guitars that never leave a temperature controlled room, but who am I (or we) to tell them
"HEY, GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND DO SOMETHING WITH THEM".
