A collection of rare British-made electric guitars has been discovered in the basement of a house in Cheltenham.
The Supersound instruments came out of a brief partnership between Jim Burns and Alan Wootton during 1958 and 1959.

If he tries to sell them anywhere local, he's going to come up against a whole lot of "Have you ever seen that Kelly Jones playing a Burns? That looks like something one of them black fellers would play bhangra on to me, Kato."

There's a possibility that some of the Mosrite-ish one's in the middle there might be alright, but the rest of them are wonky, pointy hideous monstrosities.

The front right one looks like it's about 3mm thick and drawn on card from a Frosties box.

They gave up because you can only make them so sharp before the tips start falling off. Then--clearly, someone lost an eye.

No, I am referencing something that once happened to me in a local guitar shop (I was berated for not liking an Epiphone SG by the owner saying 'Think you're better than Kelly Jones do you? Good enough for him, sunbeam...') and expecting everyone else to remember it because I am an egotistical nightmare, and think that shortscale hangs on my every utterance.
In other news, while up in the loft today, I grabbed my copy of History of the Runestaff.

Why do the ones in the back look like MDF cut and painted to look like guitars...

"I don't actually play," he said "but I just love them in the same way that people collect old paintings even though they can't paint."
thats an irritating statement.

Quite. "
I just love them in the same way that people collect easles, canvasses and paintbrushes even though they can't paint" would be nearer the mark.
Selfish cunt.

If it wasn't for this guy these would have ended up in the garbage.
Collectors keep the history of almost everything alive.

good point, but then the guitars are far more likely to be used and appreciated if something is done with them.

They would get fucked up though if they were used. They can last indefinitely as collectors items.
