A month ago I picked up a lefty blue and dark tort mustang in a shop. And had a debate wheter or not to change the pickgaurd on it. I made the choice to buy a lefty gaurd in white,(sorry William(does he still post here?) it's not mint) off ebay. It cost $15, I think I got a good deal on it. I got it in the mail today, and my next steps are to paint a set off my white pick up covers black, and then it's done. Now for the pics :D .

I have(had) two Blue and tort mustangs, after awhile it's gets old. So one is still Blue and tort, and now one is Blue and White. I thought it was time for change.

As much as I liked blue and tort on you're mustangs the white guard is a good change. I like.

btw what happened to willam?

EDIT- while I'm at it... what happened to your bass player for "silly rabbit"?

BRING BACK WILLIAM! Waiting on the paint to dry for the pick up covers!
and our bassist left about two months after we started the band, he is still our friend and drives us to gigs and hangs out with us. He just didn't think music was his calling (it's hard to do this when your a marine I guess.). So we just decided, no sense in getting a bassist. It's way easier to just be a two piece just guitar/vocals and drums. Also I'm kind of a 'artist' type about the songs I write, and when we tried to adapt another bassist in and he couldn't get it, I couldn't stand it! I died a little inside when he was struggling on 3 chord choruses. So basically it's just us 2, the short blonde/blue haired drummer, and my self the tall half asian black/red haired guitarist/vocalist.

Paint finished drying at 9:30ish p.m., soldered in some older(93) MIJ bridge pickups form my other mustangs, one in both neck and bridge. I'm sure it doesn't matter neck and bridge, but the sound has improved a lot from the CIJ pick ups. Put it all together got it strung up tested it out. And *TADA* it's done at 10:43 p.m.!

(I'm a little pissed :x , I broke two fucking High E strings! 2!!! GAH!!! I most certainly am not an Earnie Ball fan, after these strings I'm going back to Dean Markley)

That looks great. I had a similar configuration on my mustang when I had it (white pearl and black pups), always wanted a flat white guard but never got round to it. So much better than the tort. Good job.

Good work Rabs, I love plain white on those rather than pearloid- very classily understated.

Good has been done, and it now looks sweeter than stevia extract.

Thanks for the comments, it's been a fun project. I think it's nicer than blue and tort as well.

Looks good. Earnie Ball's are shite. D'Addario is where it's at.

I use D'Addario EXP on my acoustics, I used to use those nickel Hendrix edition strings from Dean Markley on all my electrics. Sadly those are discontinued, and my last set is on my other mustang (that's still and will remain blue and tort). So I'm not changing those until I find the perfect replacement.

When I get the time to, I'm going to go on the hunt for new strings, I'm taking your guys advice. So right now on the list is ELixir, D'Addario, some other Dean Markley, and Dunlops.

Yep the tone lasted for about a month and a half now I need new ones.
Only problem is if you're a noob with slot head tuners (know how to put em in but never did it before) like me the lubricated strings will pop out a bit. The more you change em though the easier it gets.

Fuckin stainless steel flatwounds and just change the top 2 when they rust = DSB tonez [/derail]

My Mustang is blue & tort - I like it more every time I look at it (had it for 2 years now). I was dicking around with the builder today cause I'm thinking about a white guard with lipsticks, but the menstrual tort just keeps calling me back.
