I just get the 3-packs of 18AWG (or 22, can't remember as I'm drunk) from Radio Shack. Good quality, stranded copper, and comes in a pack with red, black, and green. Make sure you get stranded (as opposed to solid-core) wire, as it is much more durable.

A wire stripper in a good investment as well; just make sure you get the one that looks like a pliers, cause the "automatic" one with the trigger doesn't work half the time.

Usually the values are 250K for single coils and 500K or 1Meg for humbuckers or P-90s. It's all taste, though. 1Meg will give the most output and high-end. Make sure you get audio-taper.

That is all.

Actually I use solid core in all my pedal builds, I think it's great. I just subbed in 1 meg pots into Gareth's guitar.

It's true, plastic insulation triggers stock Alesis beats to persistently pulse in the background. It's what drove Yngwie mad that time on the plane.

Do something original and use battery cables. Then it will really be hot rodded.

Should it be shielded or anything?
