can't be bothered to read all 23 pages but on the first page he says
I plan to contact them and sell it back if they want it

which made me go :? ... it was stolen, it's been so long and the band is kinda rich, fuck knows how many people have laid their hands on it and just didn't know and they all paid for it, but still... if you find something that's been stolen wouldn't you at least offer to give it back..surely expecting something back from them but not rudely going 'you can buy it back if you like', no matter how rich they are ?

I really don't think it is one of theirs, it could just be one a fan made. I would have to see the routing before I believe.

er... i'm not sure about other countries but even having that in your possession would allow the police to charge you with receiving stolen goods in the UK.

as for selling it back to the band... it's technically their property and they'd be within their rights to give nothing for it. chances are they would pay something because of your honesty... but still.

HOT POTATO.

edit: baws, i didn't realise it was a 23 page thread, i only read the first page... i'll skip to the end.

The guy managed to contact SY's guitar tech via someone on offset guitars.

He is meeting the band as they are playing near to where he lives, from what I have read the story is he gets what he paid for it plus entry to the show & meets Lee.

Funny thing is the guy he bought it off is a Copper!

Same guitar serial # and all. I read the whole thread, it's actually pretty interesting. Aparently they're touring near the dude and he's on the list at their gig to meet them and return the guitar. I think it's really decent that the dudes returnig it. You never know it could lead back to more of their stolen gear...

I typed that early in the morning along with typing my senior paper. I was still in that mood to argue. Sorry my mistake.

It's amazingly still in the same condition without a lot of extra damage. It's worth reading even if you don't post there. He did the only thing you can do, really. Fascinating story.

Saeurkraut's ok, it's the rest of them. You'd think some of them want to take a picture of the Mustang tied to a chair and cut out magazine letters for an accompanying note:
DEaR $0niC U-Th,

Wii haz sTAnG, bRiNg 700 BUX and/or 100,000 @mBer SwI+cHTiP$ to offset, or wE do FlOyD Rose

hah ha ha hah ha
"I'd contact the band but not give the guitar back," someone on there said, right before he held a shop door open for a someone in a wheelchair for 30 seconds before slamming it in their face, flipping them off from the other side of the glass and yelling "crippled BITCH!!!"
