Did Fender make a japanese version of the Cyclone?

The shops? I know in Japan they have their own line of exclusives, but do they not get MIMs and MIAs as well?
Or he could've bought it during travels, off eBay from someone who moved over with one, etc...

the girl in a band called noodles also plays a cyclone (i think, i mistaked it for a mustang but someone pointed out it was a cyclone?) i don't know if fender japan made their version of it but i guess it's possible, but just like you can get cij and mim, mia here you can get them there too so a japanese band using them doesn't automatically mean it's cij .. i guess it says somewhere on the headstock or neck heel ?
the dark wood going through the neck makes me think mim somehow

headstock and neck finish/color are very "mexican," for lack of a better word. y'know how jap necks always have a bit of orange? this one doesn't appear to have that tint. i could be wrong.

There were never any Japanese Fender Cyclones. Only Mexican and a very small run from the US which were only for the Japanese market.
Oh, and hotrod is right, that's Mexican. The American ones had two single coil pickups that were both angled and I think they had matching headstocks.

They've been posted here before, and yea they were MIA and only available in japan... fucked up right? And the one in the pic is definitely the MIM one, they made them in white in the 90's.

The mexican one feels and sounds OK, the Squier feels and sounds like shit. In my experience. I played a yeller MIM cyclone, dug it enough. I played a black Squier and the frets just about cut my fingers off, and it sounded like a tin can full of nails.

easy enough problems to sort out. you need a file and new pickups.
