Great Traditional American Design meets the Bedazzlerz

Post by Mr.Ripley »

Absolute Hilarity if you ask me. I've seen a couple of this sellers guitars up but none have made me laugh quite as hard as this one. It's apparently an old Gibson Marauder (which usually go for around 600$?) which has now been blinged out with 1000$ worth of those crappy kindergarten plastic jewels.
Now I think that the thing to do is pool Shortscaler's money together and then sell this to the GuitarCenter in Hollywood so that it can become their main display

AHHH I hate that eBay shop. They have some nice gear but all of it is at crazy prices and looks pretty wrecked. I don't know where they get all their stock from, but they don't seem to sell any of it.

THIS LP Junior is almost $4000 :

WTF Its just the body and neck!?!! 4000 ?!! Neck and Body both refinished, unoriginal routing, new frets, new nut, pffft.

replaced frets don't ruin a guitars value. frets are made of material that is softer than strings. that way you can
replace or re-shape fret wire every couple of years v.s. buying new strings every couple of days. frets are made to be re-placed.

so i always have to laugh when i see an ebay listing with "original frets!!!" cause that means "plays like shit!!!"

I think they just want to say that as a way of pretending it's 100% og. or else to hint that the guitar hasn't been extensively played.

yeah, like "its been routed for humbuckers, but the fret wire is 30 years old!!!"

the other part is a good point though.
