i keep thinking of schecters as either hard-kore metal machines (HH string-thru-body-strat-style) or gorgeous early 80's Tom Anderson strat clones. they seem to be branching out though..

I've never much liked them, but I've a bit of respect for them on account of what I've heard about their straight rock guitars.
