Kathie is in the market for a wireless mic. Off hand has anyone got any experience with these or could anyone recommend a particular brand?

My work sells 'em... and my colleagues all agree that the Sennheiser wipes the floor with the Shure !!
I'll get some more details tomorrow...

I don't think I'm being a luddite when I say "it's wrong to use wireless mics, in-ear monitors, or wireless guitar systems. Ever."

This is the case with wired mics too. Sennheiser make good stuff for the money.
As far as brands go, at the 'a bit above entry level, good enough but cheap enough to afford' end of the scale (and further too, but both of these companies make a lot of £70-200 sort of mics), Sennheiser and Beyer Dynamic are your boys. I know very little about wireless but I think it will be very similar. Have a browse of what Audio Technica sell too. They make some not so good cheap stuff, but they're low-mid price wired mics (like the AT3044 or something like that) are good value and well worth a look.

I sort of want an e609. It's mainly aesthetic.

I've not used one (I had the chance to a few times at uni but was always pushed for time when the oppurtunity came up so I went with what I knew) but I love the e602. After using it once I used it on the kick everytime I had to record drums.
