didn't think this would be real tough. i want a white pearl MM bass pg (which i've been trying to get for a while, the mint looks gay), with only one pot hole on the control plate end of the pg. the following is an actually ebay message conversation between Roger (Jeannie Pickguards) and I.
hotrodperlmutter wrote:can i get this pg in white pearl with only two holes at the bottom?

thx!
sure that was a little vague, but i thought he might get the jist of it...
Roger wrote:what do you mean 2 holes at the bottom?
i can make in in pearl for more money.
The pearli is 54.00
I have some listed just need the year.
do a search on my ebay store.

thanks,
rod

you give me the year and buy the tortoise guard and i will make you a pearl guard they are the same price.
the tortoise guard he speaks of is the kind that butts up against the neck. do not want.
hotrodperlmutter wrote: it's a 2004 squier bronco bass. i'm converting it to a musicmaster, so i don't know how the year is going to come into play.

let me know
Dickface wrote:No it is a cuatom part so you have to ask for what you want when you pay with paypal.

I have told you what to do 3 times now and am sorry you can not get it.
Please call tomoroww on the phone so i can tell you what to do.
Or you can order it direct.

am i asking too much?

anyone know who'll make a guard like this, cuz i sure as hell don't trust this guy to get all my crazy ass questions translated to a piece of vinyl.

That's very awful customer service regardless of how vague your email was.

When I was looking for a new guard for the HH Jag I emailed him asking if he could make me one as I knew they sold it at one point. I got " We sell what we sell" or something like that as a reply. I emailed him again and he told me to do an ebay shop search. The twat was oblivious to the fact that half hios product wasn't on the store.

He comes across as a bit of a thick person that thinks he is smarter than everyone else.

Although it took me a while to realise what you wanted, it wasn't too vague and by the last couple he should have had it. His responses basically say "Send me $54 and I will send you a piece of plastic that won't fit."

i keep telling everyone to go to http://www.pickguardheaven.com/ but no one ever fucking listens to me.

they made my tort bronco pickguard fucking perfect. the screw holes matched up better than the stock pickguard that was on it when i got it.

dude. just draw them a photo of what you want and email it to them. pictures speak way better than words.

I sent him a PDF file of a guard to make one and I told him I would accept whatever he came up with. Turned me down. I would rather buy a router at this point. We needs people with skillzes!

DO NOT repeat DO NOT USE JEANNIE. I had a fucking AWEFUL time getting my Jag hh pickguard. the guy has ZERO sales skill, shows no interest in taking your money off you, does NOT know the answers to simple questions like "does your tort look liek lots of printed dot?" (answer = YES IT FUCKING DOES YOU IDIOT BUT THANKS FOR TAKING MY CASH).

Repeat - use at own risk. First class KNOB.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Hope that's clear for y'all.

so you want something like this without a volume knob pretty much ?

Image

then you are putting the Vol where the Tone knob normally is and keep the jack correct?

i think, i may put it in between the both of them, just to kinda space it out.

might look like:

problem is, i don't have an original mm pg to trace and send anyone, because this is a squier bronco bass. perhaps someone with a real MM bass would like to trace the pg (that doesn't touch the neck) and send it to me? that would be BOSS dudes

Hahaha it took a while for this thread to pop up. I got the black abalone Jag HH pickguard for my JGS-78/86 like four years ago and communication was absolute shit. He seemed to put zero effort into making the deal work, although it did, but the humbucker mounting ring screw holes were cut way too big and I had to go find some huge fuck-off screws. I guess that was the first Jag HH template he ever got cuz he immediately started selling a bunch of different ones on eBay. I didn't have the heart to tell him they were off, and I wouldn't deal with the guy again.

I mean, it looks fucking awesome though.

Dazbootman is the best pickguard making guy ever, I'll go with him every time if I ever need anything done. The difference was like night and day.

Yeah he's not that good through eBay... I tracked down his main website and sent him a proper email, got a response so fast. Plus, I had him custom make a Jaguar pickguard that included all of the control plates, and the first two didn't fit because of first a technical error on my part, then one on his, but he made three pickguards for me until it worked and didn't charge me any more than what the first cost, so like $35. I have mad respect for the guy, and he's actually comprehensible and knows what the fuck he's talking about and how to answer questions. Only gripe I have is that his colour selection is limited to like black, white, clear, pearl, and black pearl.
