What Dano is this? Help please!

some local dude selling this:
he's asking $550 for it, given it's in very good condition. as he states, it was made in 2000. is this a good deal? don't really like the color, but i'm kinda into everything new and unusual, so might as well fall for it
what model is this?

$550 seems like a lot for what is essentially a budget guitar.

That's the Dano '63 from this past year. Musician's Friend still has some colors for $250 and they go for ~$200 all day on eBay.

Yeah, fucking list on that is $299. Dude's on crack.
It's like the moron on craigslist over here trying to sell an eastwood JR Special for $1000, when you can buy it new on the Eastwood site for like $600.

Well you know everything in here (Ukraine) costs like $150-200 more than in US, that's approximately the cost of shipping from US to here (I'm talking guitars and shit). But $550 for that Dano is still too much I guess. Just mailed the guy, said that I'd consider getting his Dano for $300.

on topic: Today got mail from the seller that was saying that's he's on for $400. I hesitated to respond because I wan't in the mood, and some time later there comes another mail, where he says it's ok for him to sell it for $300. I think I'm gonna go and take a look at the thing! However, honestly, I don't like it that much anymore since I first saw the photo... It is the color, it's too pale and at the same time too bright! Argh.

I think I get it now, just remembered that Dano owner is some kind of a homophobe. See, didn't took that much time.
