A bit too Gibsony for my tastes, but it is nice.

Actually, I don't know if it is too Gibsony, but I think that something called an elite shouldn'tbe trying to be some other companies guitar.

I like everything except the pickguard shape, it looks out of place to me.

the pickguard shape is great. looks far better than the stock tele pickguard, IMO.

I think the stock guard would look like ass on that too. I love the Tele Deluxe pickguard shape, a b/w/b one would be awesome on it. The one on there just reminds me of Gibsons. I haet when Fenders remind me of Gibsons.

It needs an ebony fretboard, bound neck and no inlays. If it had those things I'd pay sillly money for one.

+1
Those things would look fantastic on it in black.

There's a book called 50 Years of Fender that does a 1950-2000 history of Fender with a featured guitar on every page, and on 1983 there's an emerald green Gold Elite Telecaster, which has maple neck, gold hardware and pearloid tuning pegs. Apparently there was also a walnut body/neck option. It says the trem and switching on the Elite Strat was so crap it kinda plagued the whole Elite line's reputation (there was a p-bass too) so they were pulled after 2 years.

Fender should have squier do something like these,
they would sell like hot cakes and i imagine they would be pretty cheap to manufacture.

I think all guitars have to have inlays, I like to see where I am on the board.

It’s not a good Tele unless you can imagine Keith Richards playing one. And I can’t see Keith strapping this ugly fucker on!
