Wah’s your opinion?
Has anyone tested one of these beasties?
I sold my crybaby a few months ago, cause I was sick of the unwanted noise. However I miss having a wah (But don’t use one enough to justify the usual £100 + asking price for most decent wahs), I think these look and more importantly sound good (at least the demos on you tube sound good). Apparently they have something called a mag-pot instead of a standard pot which allegedly does away with the usual wah crackle. There are some sound clips here: http://www.artecsound.com/effect/apw-3.htm
what do you think, worth a punt?

I just bought one on Ebay but you can get them at these two stores:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/artec_apw3.htm
You can also get an apw-7 which has more bells and whistles!

I kind of like the wah "crackle", actually. I can understand not wanting to comprimise the overall tone you're going for but I always thought of that snarling noise a crybaby makes to be part of its charm.

Sounds good to me - the artec stuff is really quite solid.
Nothing will replace the classic for me, though. I have a crybaby copy (actually just a re-branded crybaby) I got for $20 at Target. Modded to Clyde specs and true-bypassed, added a battery switch on the side. It really sounds great and it's durable enough to stand and jump on it 3 nights a week.

Just got the new wah out of its box and its and it’s another winner, the cheaper end of the pedal market has came along way since I bought my cheap (and shit) Rak distortion pedal in 1991. Voodo chile (slight return), Bulls on parade, Lucky, it does all the tunes I’d need a wah for, and no annoying crybaby type HISSSSSSSSSSSSS
