Not every craiglist post or ebay auction requires a thread.

the pickups aren't worth $500 at all.

correct. that's why no one posts the ones about lawnmowers or spatulas or the squier 5w amp on their local cl. i feel this particular post is not necessarily thread worthy, but it is 100% relevant to this site.

so what do pickups of that era go for?

you could probably get mid-late '60s mustang pickups on ebay for about £100 each, perhaps less. '70s ones are usually cheaper, maybe £60-70. they sound almost exactly the same from what i can tell.

Under 100 bucks.

Obviously the only reason to buy vintage p/ups would be to complete a vintage guitar. Otherwise it's just mojo bollocks. You can get pickups hand wound these days for reasonable prices for any kind of sound you want.

No, just say, ' Well I can get something similar looking in argos for £100 but since that is so fucked up, I'll give you £30'

See if he'll sell it without the pickups for a $500 discount.

Looks like a refin. I like the white all trashed. Nothing special.
