...than, say the red and blue ones?
red ones are everywhere, blue ones every now and then (not so often), but are the white ones the rarest?
i'm talking mid-late 60s, not the blackguard 70s ones.
just curious.

mid-late 70's had black guards.
you said in your thread title 60's mustangs and then in your post you said mid-late 70's mustangs
explain better what you are talking about and ill let you know.
white mustangs with tort guards were the first generation made until 68. then compstangs were made from 69-73 (ive seen a 74 here and there) and then mid/late 70's mustangs came after that with black guards, body colors of black, white, natural, shit brown, trans brown, trans red, and other shit colors. but they all had black guards

with something like 60's olympic, dakota, and daphne, their rarity is all based on who is selling what in the market at that time, which colors are being sold more than others. i would say over my 7 or 8 years in the game that its all about even with these models. the one model that always brings more money to the table is the comp orange model no matter what day of the week or what year. which leads me to believe that there are less of these floating around than the comp blue or comp red ones. It might also be partially inflated because when fender did the domestic run of compstang re-issues back in 2002 they didn't include this model so people are lead to think there are less of the orange model because they see red/blue all the fucking time while trolling ebay.
i think if they re-issued the blue/orange models you would have seen a inflation in cost of the red model, because the only way you can get something that looks like it is to go vintage. people like me that don't give a fuck will just buy the re-issue and forgo the mojo feathers

the earlier 70s ones had pearloid guards, then they changed them to flat white, then black from about 76 onwards. actually, the one below is described as a '71, maybe other colours were available during the later competition period? i've definitely seen mid 70s ones with stock white guards.robroe wrote:white mustangs with tort guards were the first generation made until 68. then compstangs were made from 69-73 (ive seen a 74 here and there) and then mid/late 70's mustangs came after that with black guards, body colors of black, white, natural, shit brown, trans brown, trans red, and other shit colors. but they all had black guards
