It's in much 'newer' condition than mine, but looks identical to me. I'd never ehard of the Ibanez model before I bought mine but it's not surprising there are Greco badged ones, too.

That's not a tailpiece, it's a bridge... hence the compensated string saddle points on the top (why these are sometimes referred to as "lightning bolt" bridges) and intonnation adjustment nuts coming out the back of where the posts are.
The original stop bar became a tailpiece when the TOM was invented, before that Les Pauls had a "wraparound" bridge set-up identical to the one on James's guitar.

TOMs have a different post spacing to stop bars, so no, you couldn't just move 'em down, you'd have to fill the original bridgepost holes and redrill, then drill new tailpiece holes.

YOU ARE STUPID

I've seen Gibson branded guitars that come stock with a 1 piece 'bridge' like that that is actually just a TOM tailpiece. No saddles, literally a tailpiece. I wouldn't expect that on a £100 guitar let alone one with that sort of supposed quality association.

i'm not sure what you're saying, but he was asking if one could be fitted. answer is yes, but the easiest thing would be add some sort of wrap-around adj. bridge. doesn't necessarily give same sustain, but why would you fuck up a perfectly good knock-off?

I understand what he's saying. He called it a tailpiece and it's actually a bridge that looks like a tailpiece. I said I've seen a stock Gibson guitar that had a tailpeice in the role of a bridge.

It's adjustable, but not individually (as explained by paul above). It's set for a wound G which is what I use so it's fine for me as it is.

i just assumed by proper, he meant adjustable.

You know it. Mine is a 74 and they made them 74-76. I dont know the details of the factory sharing but they must have been sharing them during that period.

Ibanez and Greco are both brands of distributor Kanda Shokai (Fender Japan is as well), there's always been a lot of similarities between the two. Initially Greco was to be domestic market and Ibanez was to be elsewhere. Over the years they've evolved in their own directions so as to have their own distinct line of guitars.
