i've been looking for a couple years for a strat-contoured tele body, and haven't had much luck.

but i have this picture on my computer:

and it's giving me bad gas.

anyone know the best place to find them? i talked to a couple douches on tdpri.com and the guys they suggested want like $500+ for one. i was thinking like $30 - 200 preferably.

contour body + RW strat neck + esquire set up + vol & tone w/output jack on control plate = would slay kittens

any ideas? is my dream like some sort of blasphemy?

I consider lack of contours to be a shortcoming of tele. Does Esquire setup meant just bridge pickup?
BTW, Richie Kotzen (one of few shred-style players I like) had signature Tele model in Japan, and it had contours.

So I say go for it! Contours FTW. Check warmoth showcase, or special offers - they might have what you need.

Yo, check that thinline tele body @ Warmoth "screamin' deals". It's $175 and it's got contours. No finish though.

but it's a thinline. while that would be cool, i'm looking for just a straight up solid one. thx for the lookout.

Do what Jeff Beck would do and get out your orbital sander. I did that to mine! Now I'm looking for a Charvel San Dimas neck with a locking nut and ebony board for it...

You can't really see the contours because of the fire damage, but it's all there.

USA Guitars does extra body cuts @ $15 per cut. They offer their "T style" body in alder for $170. It's pushin the 200 clams, but it's available.

You don't need contours on a Telecaster, it's a slab body. That's what a Telecaster is.

You will learn to love feeling the edge of the body against your stomach.

No, I'm a guitar player, not a baby.

this is debatable.

you're whining right now about what is or isn't a telecaster. in my opinion (irrelevant somehow, i'll predict), it's all about comfort. yes a tele is slab body, that's why i think it is fucking lame and sold the 2 i had. i couldn't get used to them, however <3 the toanz provided within. my first guitar was a 69RI stang, and after playing that, and strats since, anything like a les paul or telecaster is uncomfortable.

rest assured, i'm no baby either. literally translated: i know what i like, and it ain't a piece of joe-bob wood digging into my gut.

I'm just saying - it doesn't seem you like Telecasters.

If you can't find an appropriate body on Warmoth or one of the other places then just add the contour yourself if you must and refinish the guitar.
However you will find it sounds completely different as the contact between the guitar edge and your stomach is what makes the guitar sound the way it does.

whoa, hang on meow.

i don't like telecaster BODIES. i love the pickups, the necks, the bridges, the saddles. hell i even like the control plate and pickguard. i do not like the body. only. and christ, it's just the back of the body that touches my ribs. i don't like it. feels like i'm carrying wood for my stove.

stop with the tone nonsense, you're going to draw mccockbreath here real soon.
