mustang knobs help

ok seems like my mustang knobs are glued to the pots. they dont pull off.
help. and if its an easy fix im a bumdass in advance.

on the knobs
they have small screws in them to keep them in place.
at least all my mustang knobs do.

same with the bronco knobs.

mine do not holes on the side of the knobs, its crazy as fuck and i dont know wtf to do. its crazy.

hrm.. i know i had to pry my bronco knobs off, i just sprayed a little wd-40 under them, and then slowly pried them off with a screwdriver.

Get a vice grip.
Get some proper mustang knobs.
With the vice grip, destroy the cheap fake mustang knobs that are on there. (mind the pot posts)
Install new mustang knobs.

Get a table cloth and a tea spoon. Lay the table cloth on the guitar near the knob you wish to remove. Put the spoon on the cloth with the tip under the knob and pry it off this way. The cloth is to protect against any damage to the guitar.

CIJ mustangs dont have screws...

After you've done this they should be easy to put on and remove again

I reckon 2 spoons either side... ideally it needs to be levered off straight to avoid damage... there will also be less resistance.

I managed to scratch up my control plate because I only had one spoon and it slipped and gouged the surface of the control plate >.<

I suppose you're better off being safe than sorry, but I don't think it matters.

If there is enough room under the knob i wrap a rag or plastic bag around the pot shaft and pull upwards.

ok so the long shaft thing that goes into the pot came out of it and the knob im guessing is glued to the shaft piece thats why it wasnt removable. i was able to put the two pieces back together but theyre still loose and move around.
