I'm not sure why you're calling me mike jr, or telling me to lighten up.

This is something that has been dealt with in the past, and you aren't the first person to do this. Generally speaking, links to ebay should be used when an unusual item comes up that might stimulate conversation. This post won't do that. We all know about Jagmasters, and plenty of them show up on ebay.

Whilst it isn't in the rules (well, it's not a rule), it is sort of a matter of etiquette and not clogging the boards with messy threads with no real purpose.

Plus everyone's notoriously poor on this board and we pretty much never buy guitars these days.

I quite like Supersonics, I've never own one though, as they're very expensive these days due to the At The Drive-In connection.

Also: "Mike Jr" crack, don't do that. It's ignorant, and insulting to Paul, and myself.

Firstly, noone copies me or my opinions, I disagree with my friends here on a bunch of subjects, that much is well documented. Secondly, acting like I'm some kind of post-censor is off-base, I'm getting somewhat fed up with the inaccurate picture of me that is being painted both here and on other forums.

i guess i thought if i said it, paul would grasp the connection between a couple weeks ago when a duo or something from craigslist was posted, and a few seconds later mike entered, "y'know, everything that turns up on craigslist doesn't have to be posted..."

it's interesting, because rather than just moving right along... a comment has to be made about the irrelevance, or over-abundance of such auctions/'fieds. i just think it's silly. of course, every fucking guitar i find on ebay doesn't need to be posted here. but i always notice little nods to "oh i wish i had a supersonic!" or "WTB: jagmaster." well, heres your fucking 90's squiers shortscale.

A few other forums have one dedicated thread for peeps to add there ebay heads-ups to (usually in the 50+ members section...). its a nice way to give bros a quick link without giving it away to casual browsers. Is there a thread here like that that might be useful to people such as OP?

That is a good idea. An eBay thread where we can just post anything rare, interesting or a good deal. That would be better than having to create a new thread every time. I'm sure I saw one on here that is now buried in pages of threads. Maybe get a new one going.

I think people here know how to use ebay, and if they're looking for squier shortscales, I'm sure they know how to look for them. The thing about making a thread every time one pops up, (especially early in the auction when guitars which are prized/hyped as much as these are bound to be pushed up from) is that you are bound to get someone saying "Is this threadworthy?", mainly because these areas of the forum are a Knowledge Base first and foremost, Classifieds would be a more suitable venue for a link to an ebay, but even then it seems somewhat pointless, especially if it's not a deal with a low BIN or something.

If you expected you could drop in that "Mike jr" comment and not get something back then you're mistaken. Don't do that.

i was trying to imagine like, if i was searching for a supersonic, how cool it would be of someone to post it, regardless of time remaining, BIN price, whatever. it was a gesture. i apologize. it is clearly not threadworthy, in hindsight. i will do more in the future to discriminate between worthy, and not worthy.

yeah it would be awesome if there was like, this big website where people could all post stuff for sale with prices and pictures and descriptions and stuff.

like an auction kinda thing but, online. and people could search for what they wanted.

It IS insulting, because you're implying what I do is go around Killing Joy On The Fields Of Shortscale. When I actually put a lot of myself into making this place as great as it can be. So kindly Fuck Off

Come on guys, don't start another drama. Ebay links are getting posted here every now and then, and I can't see how this one is worse than others, e.g. links of mustangs and jags and whatnot - supersonics are at least not that common... So I don't see what's so wrong with this thread in any way, there probably are more less informative threads on this board, and maybe even in this sub-forum.
