What capo do you use, if any

hey all, thought i'd ask this question.

for years i've been the user of a trusty shubb capo, which has served me well for times when nob-head singer decide to sing the song in the wrong key. recently. i wanted something a little different, mainly one i could clamp on a mike stand or the headstock of my guitar, so i always had access.

my better half brought me a dunlop trigger capo for my birthday and so far so could. feels like it has a lot more tension than my shubb. only gripe i may have is with the shubb you can changed the rubber pad easily when worn, whereas you can't on the dunlop.

what does everyone else use?

kyser.

mine's proper battered though, the rubber bit that rests on the back of the neck came off so it's been replaced with lots of black tape. still got loads of tension.

i've got one of those dunlop ones. beware of clipping them to mic stands, if you're as absent minded as me you'll spend half your life going back to fetch it from rehearsal rooms and venues.

Got both, but mostly use the shubb. Handy piece of kit.

Kyser. I like the way you can capo just 5 strings out of 6 with it, leaving the low E un-capo'd. Handy for playing E songs with D chords and still get that boomy low E instead of settling for the octave.

i had a couple dunlap capo's but i lost them in the divorce. one thing i noticed with them tho, is you have to positioned just right, otherwise it will slide all the strings up or down making it ever so slightly sharper than it should be.

Tried a few.... I own a shubb and a kyser... I'd go shubb every time!!

You can easily adjust the tension on it. Unless positioned properly... the kyser can lack some tension and create some string buzz as the spring gets weaker over time. Shubb is also more compact and I don't find it interferes with my fretting hand as much. Plus it's cheaper !! :D

I'm a Dunlop man and I just keep it clipped to the headstock if I know I'll be using it on stage. When I bought it, I never really gave much thought to it -- it was just the only capo the local store had and I needed it.

I've had it for ten years or so I believe and the rubber barely shows any signs of wear.

SHUBB DELUXE. I've been using mine everyday for 6 years and it still looks brand new. I stick it in my back pocket all the time, sit on it, toss it onto my amp from several feet away, it STILL works great. No tuning problems, fast, and sounds better than any other I've used.

ONLY SHUBB.
