Thought i would toss up some pics of my uncle's '64 Jaguar, the thing is in amazing condition as he rarely plays it, he brought it over about 6 months ago and that time he said it hadn't been out of its case in 15 years or so. So i made sure i took some pictures of it this time and played it a bit. The switches don't quite work... You can get the Bridge pickup, and the Rythm section to work, but it still sounds bliss, especially the rythm. Anyway, heres pics.
There should be a HQ version later

I checked the book that came with the guitar and noticed the L in front of the S/N
which does put it around 64 like we originally thought it was, i'd check the neck but i'm dead afraid to at this point lol
Nice video. It seems like you're really bonding with it!
I can't get over how clean it is - that is amazing.
Does your uncle have any kids that play guitar?
I've got a '65 myself - so I know how amazing those vintage Jags are first hand - I hope you're able to get your hands on it eventually.
Its good to see that guitar getting some play time - that is what they were built to do. Most Jags in that condition are probably sitting in a case as an "investment piece" for the foreseeable future...
His has been sort of an "investment" type thing over the past few years, but he would never sell it unless he needed to, and it would kill him to do it. The guitar was given to him by a family friend before he passed. The same man that tought him how to play guitar in the first place. So if it were left to me for some reason i would hold it in all respect.
It needs strings as its had the same ones for 15 years, and a setup as the trem isn't quite right as is. I just figured out that it has a Trem-lock type thing which is sweet. Leo Fender really did make this to be an excellent guitar all around. The bridge pickup is too twangy [not a good twangy for me] but the neck and rythm sounds bliss. I have to get me a MIM Jag next
