set the trem at a half way point.
i.e. the top of the trem arm housing should be parrallel with the body when the guitar is tuned up.
if its still going out of tune, use less string wraps on the tuning peg, and use graphite in the nut.

Check that the strings glide smoothly through the nut slots. If you are using thick strings you might need to widen the slots... and while your'e at it, whip out a "karandash" and rub some pencil lead into the nut slots. That will make them less likely to stick.

Also, pulling the bridge back towards the tremolo helps for me.

And also, don't expect it to work like a Floyd Rose. If you get very heavy on the tremolo bar it will go out of tune...

So where in Moscow do you live?

I spent one and a half year there in the mid nineties. Have some great memories from that time (and to be hones some blank spaces in my memory too.... It got a little drinking heavy at times :-P )

the language barrier. It's usually awesome.

Not making fun of you at all, I just love the way non english speakers phrase things. You probably get the same jollies when some english speaker attempt to speak russian.
