I don't follow Harmony Central much but there is a good monthly threads on "Hot Deals" with no spam.

Well anyways people have been calling MF and getting cheap prices on Fender/Squier stuff like way below list.

For instance Squier Duo Sonic for $199
Fender Japan Jaguar HH $499
AVRI Jazzmaster for $999
Elvis Costello Jazzmaster $1299

I don't know if these are one day sales or much details but anybody wanting to buy a Fender should investigate.

What did you call and ask about or say? Did you just ask about individual items or a promotion?

I quite like the Road Worn series... I've yet to hear a convincing argument about whats supposed to wrong with them (other than the fact they're well overpriced here in the UK)
I've played both of the Road Worn Strats, and they play really well and sound good...
The guy in the video makes good point that altho wear on the necks looks totally unconvincing, it does make them feel really nice...

I haven't touched or played one so I am reserving judgement. I think people are anti the fact that the wear is the same on each one, and also it's probably just anti-Relic sentiment against them.

They are too expensive also, a £550 Price point would be more appropriate. I have heard nothing but high praise concerning the way they sound and play.

I played a Road Worn Tele last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. It felt lovely, played well, sounded great and looked nice (and that's from someone who doesn't like relicing). I did think it was a little overpriced for what it was, was a little heavy and as mentioned the relicing looked exactly the same as all the other road worn teles. Mind you if I was inclined to buy one, I'm lucky as I have the VAT taken off (for living in Channel Islands) so could get one for about the £550 mark.

I do like it, but I would feel like a tool with that downtuning thing. If you can't tune to drop D on your own, or you don't keep a spare in an alternate tuning... welll you're a tool.

oh, and the fretboard wear on the road worns is not just fake, it's like the opposite of the real thing. it's like they purposely tried to make it look fake so as to distinguish it from custom shop.
